What a CRAZY week.
I never thought I would be back in Antipolo, let alone the same ward haha.
My new companion is named Sister Richards and she is my very first foreigner companion. The stares have increased because we've now got two white girls walking down the streets of our area haha. She is so crazy! She is full of energy and makes life so fun :) She is from New Zealand, so I'm learning lots of new English words like "rubbish", "soviet" haha. As for the Tagalog words, it's a bit of an adjustment because I don't have a walking Tagalog dictionary by my side, but we make it work haha :) She is a great Tagalog speaker, so far we haven't had any concerns about having language barriers with our investigators so that's good :)
Going back to the ward was crazy! The bishop gave a double take when he shook my hand. Everyone was like you're back! What's even crazier is how much has changed in just the year that I haven't been here. I saw one of the investigators from last year, her brand new baby is now walking! It's so so fast!
Anyway, the area is great. We are teaching a family of five that are so progressing. The mom and three teenage daughters are coming to church and are excited for baptism but the father is still hesitant to leave their catholic background. But they are amazing! Tatay is doing his best to quit smoking and has gone from 20 per day to about 3 or 4 now. But he hasn't come to church yet! He keeps saying, "the time is coming that I will go to your church". He is so close. Their family will probably be able to be baptized this upcoming June so we are excited :) We are also teaching some part members who are really progressing and will be able to be baptized soon. I already love this area so much and I am grateful to be back here :)
That's all for this week! Everyday is a miracle! I know that as we rely on the Savior in this work that amazing things happen!
Mahal ko kayo :) Ingat kayo lagi!
