It's hooooot! And it's only going to get hotter. April May and June are supposed to be the hottest months so I'm preparing myself to feel like I'm drowning in sweat all the time but really it's actually okay! It's beautiful here so I don't mind :)
Oh man family, the gift of tongues is so real. Some lessons the language just flows and I don't really have to think about it and it's wonderful and then others...well are just downright awful. I have such a strong testimony that when we are teaching by the spirit, the words are not mine. I really feel like the Lord is helping me so so much with speaking with the people here. I am understanding more and more now, I still have a long way to go of course but the language is definitely coming.
Sister Dolino and I had an experience with a Jehovah's witness the other day. We were trying to find a new investigator's house so we asked directions from a nanay sitting outside, and when we started telling her who we were she ran into her house, grabbed her bible and pamphlets and started just preaching to us. When those things happen we just are supposed to bear our testimonies and leave, and honestly I can see why Joseph Smith was so confused. This sister was reading passages of scripture that we believe in, but interpreting it so so differently. It just makes me think where would we be without our prophets? I'm just grateful for the testimony I have.
I am grateful for my mission everyday, every single one of my Kabahays (housemates) are leaving at the same time, at the end of July and they are all talking about how short their time is, how excited they are to leave, to go home and get married. Aaahh! I am so glad I still have so much time to be a missionary. I am so happy doing this work everyday.
Love you always,
